Job Summary

To support health information coding efforts, the full-time Pennsylvania Licensed Medical Coder will review and analyze medical records, assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:
  • Review medical records from various EHRs to identify principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures
  • Assign codes according to hospital and professional coding guidelines, ensuring accurate documentation for reimbursement
  • Provide educational materials to physicians to clarify documentation and enhance coding accuracy
Required qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; graduate from a specialty training program preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience required
  • One relevant certification from AHIMA or AAPC required upon hire
  • Computer literacy and critical thinking skills necessary
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and medical records
