Job Summary
To support medication access initiatives, the full-time Pennsylvania Licensed Medication Access Coordinator will obtain prior authorizations for medications, conduct benefit investigations, and serve as a liaison between patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Complete prior authorization processes and document referrals for medications based on third-party payer criteria
- Maintain knowledge of patient assistance programs and eligibility requirements, ensuring accurate enrollment paperwork is completed
- Communicate with the care team regarding authorization status and assist in educating providers and patients on specialty services
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) is required
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required
- Knowledge of pharmacy reimbursement methodologies and medical terminology is essential
- Familiarity with patient medication assistance foundations and programs is preferred
- Experience in customer service within the healthcare industry is beneficial
