Job Summary
To support cancer registry activities, the full-time Pennsylvania Licensed Oncology Data Specialist will be responsible for abstracting clinical data from electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with state and national reporting requirements, and maintaining accurate cancer registry information while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Abstracts and inputs clinical data related to cancer diagnoses, treatments, and patient outcomes into the cancer registry
- Conducts thorough reviews of medical records to identify and code reportable cancer cases in accordance with established standards
- Performs annual follow-ups on living patients to assess disease status and submits required reports to state and national databases
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tumor registry
- Cancer Registry Management Certificate from an NCRA accredited program or ODS credential required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital cancer registry
- Proficiency in coding using the TNM Classification of Malignant Tumors system
