Job Summary

To support patient access to life-saving medications, the full-time Pharmacy Prior Authorization Specialist will manage prior authorization requests and appeals with insurance carriers, collaborating with healthcare professionals while ensuring HIPAA compliance in a remote or onsite capacity in Pennsylvania.

Key responsibilities

• Manage prior authorization requests and appeals with insurance carriers
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other departments
• Maintain accurate documentation of authorization details and monitor expiring authorizations

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of pharmacy or prior authorization experience
• Pharmacy Technician License/Registration with Board of Pharmacy (as required by state law)
• Knowledge of pharmacy terminology and insurance claims processes
• Experience with CoverMyMeds
