Job Summary
The full-time Pennsylvania Licensed Senior Coder will work remotely to review and analyze medical records, translate diagnoses and procedures into coded form, and ensure compliance with coding regulations while maximizing reimbursement.
Key responsibilities:
- Review medical records to identify principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding
- Utilize Encoder software to determine and sequence codes for diagnoses and procedures while adhering to coding guidelines
- Conduct coding quality audits and provide training on coding practices and documentation techniques
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant coding experience
- One relevant certification from AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., CCS, RHIT, RHIA)
- Experience with medical records management and coding guidelines
- Proficiency in computer literacy and medical records systems
