Job Summary
Working full-time during the day, the Pennsylvania Licensed Trauma Registrar will accurately interpret and abstract clinical data into the trauma registry database while collaborating with other data coordinators and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Abstract clinical data from medical records into the trauma registry database using ICD-10 and AIS coding guidelines
- Collaborate with data coordinators on case assignments and perform inter-rater reliability checks on peer abstracted cases
- Stay informed of updates from PTSF and NTDB, and attend trauma-related meetings and conferences as directed
Required qualifications
- 2-year Associate Degree or a combination of relevant education and experience
- Preferred experience as a trauma registrar
- Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR) within 36 months of hire
- AAAM AIS certification within 1 year of hire
- Completion of a certificate/degree in related fields such as CTRS, RHIT, or RHIA is preferred
