Job Summary
To provide essential triage services remotely, the full-time Pennsylvania Licensed Triage Nurse will conduct assessments, educate callers on clinical situations, and coordinate member care for patients throughout Allegheny County during overnight shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including weekends and holidays.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage triage calls from members and stakeholders, ensuring safe and quality patient care through appropriate assessment and direction
- Notify primary stakeholders, generate follow-up reports, and perform daily surveillance of member service utilization
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to enhance the effectiveness of the telephone triage/advice line and consult on clinical concerns as needed
Required qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- 1 year of experience in triage nursing, preferably in emergency settings or medical call centers
- Current RN license in Pennsylvania
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize in urgent situations
