Job Summary

To support the Sikh History Project, a part-time Translator specializing in Persian will collaborate with researchers to produce high-quality translations of historical and theological texts, ensuring accessibility for a broad audience while maintaining linguistic and cultural nuances.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with researchers to identify texts for translation and estimate timelines
• Translate historical texts from Braj or Persian into clear, accurate English while preserving linguistic and cultural context
• Incorporate feedback from Subject Matter Experts and maintain consistency in terminology across translations

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Braj or Persian
• Strong command of English with the ability to produce clear and readable prose
• Ability to read Gurmukhi
• Experience working with historical texts and manuscripts
• Familiarity with South Asian historical contexts and Sikh history
