Personal Financial Counselor Trainee

Job Summary

To support service members and their families, the full-time Personal Financial Counselor Trainee will receive training in personal financial counseling services while working towards certification, providing education and assistance to members and internal/external customers remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Learn to provide personal financial counseling and management services
• Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences
• Coordinate and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, or an associate degree with 4 years of experience, or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience
• Over a thousand hours of financial counseling experience prior to application
• Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Working towards an approved Financial Certification (AFC, CFP, or ChFC) within 3 months of employment
• Must demonstrate ethical conduct and maintain confidentiality
