Job Summary

To support conservation efforts, the full-time salaried Pesticide Specialist - Colorado Licensed will focus on reducing pesticide reliance and mitigating risks to freshwater invertebrates through advocacy, outreach, and collaboration with various stakeholders, while working remotely from an approved location in Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, or Wyoming.

Key responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate research on pesticide risks to freshwater invertebrates and assess specific pesticide use practices
  • Promote ecologically-responsible integrated pest management and provide technical support to diverse audiences
  • Build partnerships with organizations and stakeholders to support sustainable grasshopper management practices
Required qualifications
  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree with over 2 years of experience in ecotoxicology, entomology, ecology, or related fields
  • Understanding of pesticides, ecotoxicology, and pesticide regulation
  • Knowledge of integrated pest management principles and freshwater invertebrate ecology
  • Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the United States
  • Experience in public speaking and building collaborative partnerships
