Pharmacy Authorization Representative

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Pharmacy Authorization Representative II.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and follow-up on third-party prior authorization requests for high-cost medications
• Act as a resource for training new team members and assist in implementing new processes
• Retrieve clinical information from electronic medical records and communicate with providers for authorization submissions

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with three years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with two years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to multitask in high-volume insurance verification processes
• Demonstrated PC skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with third-party billing and knowledge of healthcare insurance prior authorizations is preferred
