Pharmacy Subject Matter Expert

Job Summary

Seeking a part-time Pharmacy Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide expertise in pharmacy operations, informatics, and medication safety for a VA healthcare application upgrade, focusing on electronic prescription processing and workflow changes in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on prescription-processing workflows and operational impacts related to pharmacy applications
• Review requirements and workflow descriptions for clinical accuracy and alignment with pharmacy operations
• Participate in testing activities, assessing pharmacy business impacts and ensuring patient safety and data integrity

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in pharmacy practice, informatics, or healthcare IT
• Current or prior clinical pharmacy practice experience with a pharmacist credential (RPh or PharmD)
• Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, medication safety, and electronic prescription workflows
• Experience translating pharmacy business needs into software requirements and acceptance criteria
• Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including pharmacists and government customers
