Job Summary
Working remotely, the Pharmacy Technician - Prior Authorization will manage inbound calls from healthcare providers and process prior authorization requests while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls and provide professional customer service throughout the prior authorization process
- Maintain accurate documentation of approvals, denials, and review activities for prior authorization requests
- Process prior authorization requests received via fax and electronic means, and escalate clinical questions to the pharmacist team
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume call center environment, preferably in healthcare or prior authorization
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician performing administrative support functions
- Active Pharmacy Technician license with no restrictions
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification or state-required certification/licensure
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medical coding
