PhD Drug Discovery Leader

Job Summary

Leading scientific strategy in drug discovery, the full-time Head of Discovery will identify and evaluate therapeutic targets, analyze model outputs for drug candidates, and manage CRO partnerships while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate therapeutic targets, building scientific rationale for program selection
• Analyze model outputs to assess drug candidates' biological plausibility and therapeutic potential
• Manage CRO partnerships for candidate synthesis and biological testing, designing validation experiments

Required qualifications

• PhD in pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, computational biology, or a related field
• 5+ years of drug discovery experience in pharma or biotech, or equivalent industry experience
• Hands-on experience advancing drug discovery programs through pipeline stages
• Demonstrated experience evaluating drug candidates and making scientific go/no-go decisions
• Strong scientific judgment across target biology, disease mechanisms, and therapeutic modalities
