Philosophy Instructor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Philosophy Adjunct Faculty member, responsible for teaching and engaging students in an online setting, with a Master's degree requirement.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and assess student work in the Trident Learning Community, providing detailed feedback and engaging in course discussions
• Communicate regularly and in a timely fashion with students, grading assignments within 72 hours and responding to student communications within 24 hours during the business week
• Administer routine duties, resolve student academic issues, enforce academic policies, and participate in student retention efforts and faculty development activities

Required Qualifications and Education

• A terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution in a relevant discipline is required to teach at both graduate and undergraduate levels
• Experience teaching in a higher education setting
• Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in the discipline
• Preferred: Significant experience as a practitioner in the relevant academic discipline, experience teaching non-traditional students, and using online learning management systems
• Preferred: Experience in applying rubrics to feedback and grading
