Job Summary
Defining and driving the implementation methodology for high-performance CPU cores, the remote Physical Design CPU Methodology Engineer will focus on automation strategies and signoff infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams across advanced process nodes.
Key responsibilities
- Define and own scalable CPU physical design methodology, including synthesis, floorplanning, and physical verification
- Explore AI/ML-enabled PD tooling and develop new program RM flow for CPU partitions
- Drive automation and quality metrics to enhance predictability, turnaround time, and performance, power, area (PPA) outcomes
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in ASIC/SoC/CPU physical design, particularly with high-performance CPUs
- Deep expertise in RTL-to-GDS implementation, including timing closure and power optimization
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Tcl, Python, or Perl for automation and CAD flows
- Experience in building or owning physical design methodology and influencing technical standards
- Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate across geographically distributed teams
