Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Focusing on developer platforms and data streaming, the remote contract Platform Engineer will design and implement Kafka/Debezium CDC patterns, enhance micro-frontend frameworks, and support MuleSoft platform operations.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate Kafka/Debezium CDC patterns to capture SQL database changes and publish events to Kafka topics
- Build reusable paved paths and self-service workflows for event-streaming adoption, including onboarding through Backstage templates
- Support and improve the team's React micro-frontend framework and assist in MuleSoft platform operations and integration engineering needs
Required qualifications
- Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture
- Strong knowledge of SQL and Change Data Capture (CDC)
- Familiarity with Debezium is highly preferred
- Background in platform engineering or developer experience
- Experience with TypeScript and React is important but may be trainable
