Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Experienced software engineers will find a remote contract opportunity as a Platform Engineer, focusing on designing and implementing Kafka/Debezium CDC patterns, enhancing developer platforms, and supporting micro-frontend frameworks.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate Kafka/Debezium CDC patterns to capture SQL database changes and publish events to Kafka topics
- Build reusable paved paths and self-service workflows for event-streaming adoption, including onboarding through Backstage templates
- Support and improve the React micro-frontend framework, focusing on upgrades and developer experience enhancements
Required qualifications
- Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture
- Strong knowledge of SQL and Change Data Capture (CDC)
- Familiarity with Debezium is highly preferred
- Background in platform engineering or developer experience
- Experience with TypeScript and React is important but may be trainable
