Platform Engineer, Data Services

Job Summary

To support healthcare interoperability, the full-time remote Platform Engineer, Data Services will design, build, and operate a clinical decision support and API-driven data delivery platform, ensuring reliable access to clinical insights for providers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of the CDS Hooks platform and ensure compliance with SMART CDS Hooks specifications
• Own and evolve CDS Hook API contracts, focusing on performance, reliability, and healthcare-specific optimizations
• Design and maintain public-facing REST and event-driven APIs, ensuring secure and compliant clinical data access

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in designing and operating API platforms or service-oriented systems at scale
• 3+ years of direct experience with healthcare data integrations and interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7)
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with CDS Hooks or similar clinical decision support APIs
• Strong expertise in designing REST APIs, including contract design and authentication patterns
• Proficiency in modern backend languages (Python, Java, Go) and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
