Platform Engineering Lead

Job Summary

Leading engineering teams in a remote capacity, the full-time Platform Engineering Lead will provide technical leadership for enterprise integration, API management, and platform modernization efforts while ensuring the delivery of secure and scalable digital services across the VA.gov ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams in enterprise integration and API platform initiatives, overseeing solution delivery and technical implementation
• Design and optimize scalable integration solutions while ensuring alignment with cybersecurity and compliance standards
• Coordinate cross-functional engineering efforts and manage technical dependencies across teams and external partners

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum of ten years of relevant experience in engineering, systems integration, or enterprise software delivery
• Strong experience in leading enterprise integration and API development initiatives in large-scale environments
• Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering methodologies
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
