Platform Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading the Cloud Infrastructure Squad, the remote Platform Engineering Manager will be responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of Garner's cloud infrastructure on AWS, while managing a high-performing team and executing the technical roadmap for infrastructure development.

Key responsibilities

• Own the reliability, performance, and security of cloud infrastructure, ensuring operational excellence and incident response
• Define and execute the technical roadmap, prioritizing investments in key infrastructure tools and technologies
• Lead and develop a team of infrastructure engineers, setting expectations and providing feedback to maintain high standards

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure or platform engineering experience, including 2 years in an engineering management role
• Deep expertise with AWS and modern infrastructure tooling such as Kubernetes and Terraform
• Proven track record of building and scaling reliable and secure cloud platforms, managing SLOs/SLAs
• Strong people management skills with the ability to hire and develop engineering talent
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills, capable of articulating technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
