Job Summary
Focusing on advanced numerical modeling and programming, the full-time Postdoctoral Researcher will contribute to coastal hydrodynamics, water quality, and environmental forecasting initiatives at the Center for Coastal Resources Management, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and engaging in independent research.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct advanced numerical modeling research to support coastal resilience and flooding studies
- Develop and implement next-generation operational modeling systems based on the SCHISM framework
- Prepare high-quality manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and assist in grant proposal development
Required qualifications
- Earned Ph.D. in computational science, applied mathematics, physical oceanography, or a related field
- Strong quantitative, numerical modeling, and programming skills, including web-based programming
- Experience applying numerical models to oceanic and estuarine systems
- Record of peer-reviewed research and scholarly publication appropriate to career stage
- Broad knowledge of coastal and estuarine systems
