Job Summary
Seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator for a contract position that will manage, secure, and optimize PostgreSQL databases remotely while participating in an on-call rotation for 24/7 production support and driving automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases to support a global workforce
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 production support for mission-critical systems
- Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reliability across database operations
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL administration in production environments
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, specifically RDS for PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Aurora
- Proven track record in production support, including on-call responsibilities
- Experience with database monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting tools
- Deep knowledge of backup, recovery, and high availability/disaster recovery strategies
