Job Summary
Seeking a hands-on PostgreSQL Database Administrator, the full-time remote position will manage database services across on-premises infrastructure and GCP, focusing on production operations, migrations, and operational automation.
Key responsibilities
- Administer the full database lifecycle, including installation, configuration, patching, and incident response
- Configure and monitor high-availability clusters using EDB Failover Manager and perform backup and recovery operations with Barman
- Utilize automation tools like Ansible and Git to build repeatable PostgreSQL environments and maintain documentation
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field, or 2+ years of equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL administration in production environments
- Experience with EDB Postgres, EFM, Barman, and PostgreSQL monitoring tools
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, backup validation, and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with Ansible, Git, and cloud platforms like GCP or AWS
