Job Summary
To support a growing practice, the full-time remote Advanced Markets / Private Placement Life Insurance (PPLI) Attorney will serve as an independent tax and estate-planning authority, evaluating client suitability, structuring ownership arrangements, and ensuring tax compliance for PPLI transactions.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate clients' investment profiles and recommend appropriate ownership structures for PPLI
- Conduct independent diligence on carriers, policies, and investment options, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Coordinate implementation of PPLI transactions and develop training resources for other attorneys within the firm
Required qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Substantial experience in federal income-tax treatment of life insurance and structuring compliance
- Experience with advanced estate planning strategies, including ILITs and dynasty trusts
- Familiarity with private-placement and securities issues, including due diligence processes
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary transactions across various stakeholders
