Pre-Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Pre Authorization Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify prior authorization requirements by insurance/payer and process pre-authorizations for scheduled and add-on services
• Document pre-authorization information in Epic and communicate approvals or denials to the ordering Provider's office
• Advocate for patients/providers by processing pre-auths in a timely manner and collaborating with healthcare professionals to secure necessary clinical information

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Experience with insurance/payer requirements and prior authorization processes
• Proficiency in using third-party payer/insurance portals
• Knowledge of insurance providers and their expectations for authorization approval
• Ability to analyze information and document results accurately
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
