Job Summary
To support patient care, the fully remote Precertification Specialist will obtain and manage prior authorizations, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements and facilitating timely access to treatment.
Key responsibilities
- Ensures timely acquisition and management of prior authorizations to facilitate uninterrupted patient care
- Reviews patient insurance eligibility and benefits, aligning with payer requirements
- Proactively follows up on pending or denied authorizations and submits appeals as necessary
Required qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a patient access or financial clearance role, preferably in oncology
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to navigate different systems and multitask efficiently
- Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying the position
