Precertification Specialist

Job Summary

To support patient care, the fully remote Precertification Specialist will obtain and manage prior authorizations, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements and facilitating timely access to treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensures timely acquisition and management of prior authorizations to facilitate uninterrupted patient care
• Reviews patient insurance eligibility and benefits, aligning with payer requirements
• Proactively follows up on pending or denied authorizations and submits appeals as necessary

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in a patient access or financial clearance role, preferably in oncology
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to navigate different systems and multitask efficiently
• Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying the position
