Preconstruction Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Preconstruction Engineer, the successful candidate will lead the technical development and conceptual design of utility-scale PV and BESS projects, ensuring competitive EPC estimates and proposals while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of conceptual utility-scale PV and BESS system designs, ensuring alignment with project specifications and performance targets
• Review client data and RFP requirements to create actionable design criteria, identifying risks and optimization opportunities
• Collaborate with civil, structural, electrical, procurement, and construction teams to support technical evaluations and pricing

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related discipline from an accredited university
• 3+ years of experience in solar EPC, developer, or engineering firm
• 2+ years of direct experience in planning, design, and engineering of utility-scale PV and/or BESS systems
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with PVcase and construction methods
• Understanding of interconnection, site constraints, and permitting considerations
