Principal AI Developer Architect

Job Summary

Serving as the technical authority for the AI engineering layer, the full-time remote Principal AI Developer Experience Architect will design the integration of enterprise-grade AI coding assistants and LLM platforms into engineering workflows, ensuring AI-generated code is trustworthy and impactful for an organization of over 800 developers.

Key responsibilities

• Architect the AI Engineering Layer by defining end-to-end architecture for AI-augmented development and establishing reusable patterns for workflows
• Own AI Guardrails, Skills, and Standards by maintaining AI coding standards and ensuring compliance with security and governance policies
• Drive Developer Adoption and Experience by publishing guidance and collaborating with the developer community to enhance AI-assisted development skills

Required qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering or platform/dev tools, with significant experience at a Staff/Principal level in a large product organization
• 3+ years designing and shipping LLM-powered developer tools or workflows in production environments
• Proven track record of architecting developer platforms or large-scale internal tooling
• Deep understanding of LLM context window design, prompt engineering, and CI/CD systems
• Experience acting as a cross-organizational technical leader and presenting technical tradeoffs to senior leadership
