Principal AI Engineer

Job Summary

Principal AI Engineer, a full-time remote position, is responsible for owning the AI foundation that integrates generative AI into mental healthcare, designing durable systems for patient engagement and provider workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect core platform primitives and establish technical standards in a regulated environment
• Design and implement production-grade AI systems for scalability and effectiveness
• Collaborate on applied research to align AI solutions with clinical constraints

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years with Public Cloud (AWS, GCP, etc.)
• 5+ years designing and scaling distributed systems
• 5+ years of deep experience in Python and at least one other backend language (TypeScript, Java, Go, etc.)
• 2+ years building AI-powered products at scale with foundation models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience with LLM integration patterns and orchestration frameworks
