Principal AI Engineer
Job Summary
Driving the development of applied AI and ML solutions, the full-time Principal AI Engineer will focus on building production-grade systems for patient-provider matching and clinical workflows in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and optimize advanced recommendation engines and retrieval models to enhance patient engagement and clinical workflows
- Design AI architectures and core ML infrastructure while resolving complex engineering challenges
- Lead the implementation of applied AI features that improve match quality and user experience
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years in designing and scaling distributed systems
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in building and optimizing search, ranking, relevance, or recommendation engines at scale
- Strong programming skills in Python and at least one backend language (TypeScript, Java, or Go), with experience in AI-powered products
- Proven track record with traditional search/retrieval infrastructure and modern vector databases
- 3+ years of experience with MLOps, data pipelines, and evaluation systems
