Principal AI Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a Principal AI Engineer for a full-time remote position, this role will manage the architectural direction of AI-assisted engineering, focusing on the design and evolution of core Python-based data extraction and load infrastructure while mentoring engineers and driving modernization efforts.
Key responsibilities
- Own platform architecture, designing and evolving data extraction and pipeline systems for 500+ integrations
- Lead the modernization of legacy systems into scalable, AI-native infrastructure
- Mentor engineers on AI-assisted development practices and collaborate cross-functionally on new integration capabilities
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience, including 2 years in a principal/architect-level role
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and building agentic frameworks for code maintenance
- Strong background in distributed systems, including Kubernetes and workflow orchestration
- Experience with SQL and query optimization across PostgreSQL and ClickHouse
- Ability to work within the EST timezone and fluency in English
