Principal AI Engineer
Job Summary
Shaping the future of AI-assisted engineering, the full-time Principal AI Engineer will design and evolve core data extraction and load infrastructure while mentoring engineers and driving modernization efforts in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own platform architecture by designing and evolving data extraction and pipeline systems for 500+ integrations, while identifying and improving architectural bottlenecks
- Lead the modernization of legacy systems into scalable, AI-native infrastructure and implement agentic development frameworks for codebase maintenance
- Mentor engineers on AI-assisted development practices and collaborate cross-functionally with product and AI teams on framework rollout and new integration capabilities
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a principal or architect-level role owning production systems
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and a strong background in distributed systems, including Kubernetes and workflow orchestration
- Experience building secure and resilient systems, along with reliability practices at scale such as observability and incident response
- Solid SQL and query optimization skills across PostgreSQL and ClickHouse
- Ability to work within the EST timezone and fluency in English
