Principal AI Researcher

Job Summary

Defining and driving the long-term research direction for the Trase operating system, the full-time Principal AI Researcher will lead research on agentic systems and AI infrastructure, focusing on real-world execution environments and collaborating with engineering teams to translate research into scalable production systems, while working remotely or from Seattle, WA, or McLean, VA.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the AI/ML research strategy and technical roadmap for Trase OS
• Lead large-scale experimentation and prototyping efforts to translate AI research into production-grade systems
• Drive original research and breakthroughs in agentic systems and multi-agent orchestration

Required qualifications

• 12-15+ years of experience in machine learning, AI systems, or applied AI research
• Strong research and publication track record in frontier AI research
• Experience conducting large-scale experimentation with significant compute infrastructure
• Deep expertise in agentic systems, LLMs, multi-agent systems, or reinforcement learning
• Proven experience building and deploying enterprise-grade AI systems at scale
