Principal AI Solutions Engineer

Job Summary

As a hands-on role, the freelance Principal AI Solutions Engineer will design and build data solutions for clients' AI models, acting as a trusted advisor to senior technical stakeholders while working remotely from South America.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical counterpart to CTOs and VPs of Engineering, leading executive conversations and managing client relationships
• Diagnose client needs and propose effective data strategies for training and evaluating AI models
• Design and implement multi-stage data pipelines and AI-driven systems, ensuring quality and scalability of solutions

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience delivering complex AI, ML, or data projects end to end
• Strong understanding of modern LLM development and evaluation methodologies
• Hands-on experience in designing complex AI solutions and developing multi-stage pipelines
• Solid software development foundations, including version control and iterative development
• Exceptional problem-framing skills to translate ambiguous goals into clear AI data strategies
