Principal AI Systems Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of innovative AI systems, the full-time remote Principal AI Systems Engineer will design, build, and deploy production-grade AI applications, focusing on large language models and retrieval-augmented generation systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI systems based on the approved AI roadmap, ensuring end-to-end ownership of architecture and deployment
• Build and maintain production-grade Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems on AWS, including evaluation harnesses for performance metrics
• Establish security controls and integrations for AI systems, ensuring compliance with IT security protocols and regulatory requirements

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of software and/or AI/ML engineering experience, with at least 1 year focused on LLM-based application development
• Hands-on experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems and relevant AWS infrastructure
• Strong software engineering skills, including proficiency in Python and familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and cloud platforms
• Experience with enterprise search and retrieval services, including OpenSearch or Elasticsearch
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
