Principal AI Systems Engineer

Job Summary

To drive AI initiatives within the company, the full-time remote Principal AI Systems Engineer will define AI architecture, establish governance standards, and develop internal AI workflows and automations while collaborating closely with engineering leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Build a secure internal AI data and retrieval layer to enhance information accessibility
• Establish governance and safe AI usage patterns across the organization
• Create and implement internal AI workflows and automations that are user-friendly and secure

Required qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering, data engineering, or platform/infrastructure roles, with at least 2 years focused on AI/ML systems
• Proven experience in designing and implementing AI-powered retrieval systems and workflow orchestration in production
• Proficiency in Python, Node, Angular, and TypeScript
• Strong understanding of context engineering and information architectures for reliable AI outputs
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical colleagues
