Principal API Architect

Job Summary

As the Chief API Architect for Product Engineering, the full-time remote Principal API Architect will define and evolve the API architecture and governance model, ensuring high-quality API design and delivery across various product pillars.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain API architecture, standards, and review processes for Product Engineering
• Collaborate with product and platform leaders to shape API roadmaps and drive convergence on shared patterns
• Lead cross-team API design reviews and mentor senior engineers on API architecture and best practices

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience building large-scale backend systems and APIs
• 5+ years in a senior architecture role with responsibility for organization-wide API architecture
• Deep hands-on experience with TypeScript or Python for web services and APIs
• Strong expertise in distributed systems and cloud architectures
• Proven track record in API governance and standards definition
