Principal Architect, Network R&D
Job Summary
Serving as a senior technical leader, the remote Principal Architect, Network R&D will shape future network capabilities through architectural expertise, disciplined experimentation, and evaluation of emerging technologies in a full-time capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide architectural direction for Network R&D initiatives across emerging network technologies and advanced infrastructure concepts
- Evaluate and analyze emerging technologies to determine their relevance for the company's future network strategy
- Develop reference architectures and technical design patterns, guiding experiments and technical assessments to test feasibility and operational fit
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred
- 12+ years of experience in network architecture, engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Deep technical expertise in advanced network domains such as optical systems, AI-enabled infrastructure, or security architecture
- Proven ability to evaluate emerging technologies and make business-relevant recommendations
- Strong executive communication skills to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
