Principal Architect, Platform

Job Summary

Owning the platform architecture and driving the evolution of various systems, the full-time remote Principal Architect, Platform will manage the technical direction across Enterprise Platform, Scientific Search, AI/ML Ops, and more, ensuring robust and scalable solutions for scientific data and AI capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the architecture for enterprise data governance, ensuring compliance and effective management of scientific data environments
• Lead the development of AI/ML infrastructure and operational standards to support model serving and traceability in production
• Design and implement the developer platform, enhancing developer productivity and establishing CI/CD standards across teams

Required qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a staff or principal role within a SaaS platform or data infrastructure context
• Proven architecture ownership in enterprise authentication and authorization systems at scale, including SAML and OIDC
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML serving infrastructure and model inference pipelines in production
• Expertise in search architecture, having designed systems that handle diverse query types across large datasets
• Fluency in AWS infrastructure with Kubernetes or ECS, capable of addressing cost anomalies and operational issues effectively
