Principal ASIC Physical Design Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the physical implementation of AI accelerators, the full-time remote Principal ASIC Physical Design Engineer will manage floorplanning through tapeout, lead implementation methodology, and partner with cross-functional teams to achieve optimal power, performance, and area (PPA) results.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead floorplanning, macro placement, and power planning for AI accelerator designs
• Drive clock tree synthesis, place and route, and ensure timing closure
• Develop methodology for power grids and congestion analysis to support design decisions

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in physical design, including multiple advanced-node tapeouts
• Expert-level proficiency in Innovus and ICC2 implementation flows
• Deep expertise in physical implementation processes, including timing and power closure
• Hands-on experience with full signoff across timing and power quality metrics
• Proven track record of managing complex physical design projects from floorplanning to tapeout
