Principal AV Safety Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal AV Safety Engineer focused on SOTIF and Human Factors.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and assess hazards related to human factors in automated driving systems and develop mitigation strategies
• Perform risk assessments and support safety analysis for human interfaces, ensuring usability and minimizing human error
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop safety requirements and support safety audit programs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Psychology, Safety, or System Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in human factors engineering, engineering test, or systems engineering
• Experience with hazard analysis techniques such as System Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA)
• Real-time operations experience on complex systems with high failure consequences
• Proven ability to influence continuous improvement for systems safety
