Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Backend Engineer, Experimentation Platform.

Key Responsibilities

Define and evolve the API platform architecture for user data, ensuring scalability, security, and extensibility
Lead the design of public and internal API contracts, including governance standards
Architect API gateways and service meshes for unified access to distributed systems while maintaining performance and reliability

Required Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience focused on scalable APIs and distributed backend systems
3+ years of experience leading platform or API architecture in cloud environments
Expertise in REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and API versioning and authentication
Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, Go, Python, Scala)
Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines
