Principal Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Backend Software Engineer (USA Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the technical strategy and architectural roadmap for the backend platform, establishing technical standards and best practices
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend services using AWS Lambda and RESTful APIs
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, ensuring code quality and addressing complex production issues

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in backend development
• Expert-level proficiency in Java or another programming language suitable for AWS Lambda
• Extensive experience with AWS serverless services, particularly Lambdas and DynamoDB
• Demonstrated ability to set technical direction and influence cross-functional teams
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and establishing engineering processes
