Principal Business Intelligence Manager

Job Summary

As a remote full-time opportunity, the Principal Business Intelligence Manager will set the technical and data-product direction for Zillow's customer experience operations, focusing on building a scalable and trustworthy data foundation that supports analytics and AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define the target-state architecture and semantic-layer strategy for the data foundation, ensuring alignment across business lines and systems
• Design reusable metrics-as-code patterns and govern metric definitions to enhance data usability across various analytics platforms
• Lead cross-organizational data initiatives that align with company strategy and customer experience priorities, mentoring senior team members in the process

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics engineering, or business intelligence data-product leadership
• Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and designing architectures across multiple business domains and source systems
• Deep understanding of semantic-layer design and data governance at an organizational scale
• Experience with analytics-engineering tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Tableau
• Strong ability to communicate and gain alignment across diverse stakeholders in product, engineering, and analytics
