Principal Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

To take full ownership of the Azure environment, the Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will work remotely or from Schenectady, New York, managing architecture, security, reliability, and execution while providing technical direction to the DevOps team.

Key responsibilities

• Own Azure architecture across all environments, including production, staging, and development
• Design and implement secure cloud landing zones and improve existing Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Lead incident response and production support while optimizing cloud cost, performance, and reliability

Required qualifications

• 7+ years in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or cloud security roles with experience in production systems
• 4+ years of hands-on Azure experience in production SaaS environments
• Strong Terraform/Bicep experience at production scale
• Proven experience designing cloud architecture and owning production systems
• Deep understanding of cloud networking and security principles
