Principal Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

As a full-time remote Principal Cloud Engineer, the successful candidate will design and implement cloud architectures and standards that support operational scalability, partner with development teams to enhance application delivery, and mentor engineers while advancing Infrastructure as Code practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build reference architectures and technology standards for cloud environments, ensuring security and scalability
• Collaborate with application development teams to provide patterns and frameworks that facilitate efficient cloud service adoption
• Champion Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform, ensuring repeatable and auditable infrastructure deployments

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 10+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or platform engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or principal-level role
• Strong understanding of cloud computing fundamentals, including IAM, virtual networking, and load balancing
• Hands-on experience with Azure private networking and Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools
• Proficiency in Git-based version control and CI/CD pipeline design and management
