Principal Cloud Network Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the GCP networking strategy, the full-time Principal Cloud Network Engineer will own the complete lifecycle from business requirements and architectural vision through design and implementation, while also mentoring the networking team and driving operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end network architecture strategy, translating business needs into GCP networking designs
• Lead architectural decisions on VPC topology, Cloud Interconnect, and load balancing, balancing performance and security
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code frameworks using Terraform across multiple GCP projects and regions

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in cloud or network engineering, with at least 4 years at a principal or staff-equivalent level
• Expert-level mastery of GCP networking, including VPC architecture and service mesh design
• Deep understanding of networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF, and TCP/IP
• Proficiency with Terraform at scale and experience building reusable infrastructure modules
• Demonstrated mentorship and leadership experience in growing junior engineers into senior contributors
