Principal Data Architect

Job Summary

To support a rapidly scaling healthcare organization, the full-time hybrid Principal Data Architect will define and execute the enterprise data architecture roadmap, build scalable data models, and lead technical teams while working remotely with occasional in-office visits for Houston residents.

Key responsibilities

• Architect a modern, scalable Azure-based data platform and eliminate legacy reporting limitations
• Design and standardize lakehouse and warehouse architecture, optimizing performance and cost
• Lead and mentor Data Engineers and Analytics teams, influencing data architecture decisions

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in Data Architecture
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data ecosystem, Databricks/Spark, and Power BI
• Strong expertise in data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake, Lakehouse) and SQL, Python, PySpark
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence technical teams
• Strong business acumen to align architecture with company goals
