Principal Data Center Engineer

Job Summary

Driving the future of physical infrastructure, the full-time remote Principal Data Center Engineer will define next-generation data center architectures, oversee MEP systems, and lead site selection processes while mentoring engineers and representing the company in the broader community.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own reference architectures for future-proof data center environments, adapting to technological shifts
• Serve as the primary technical stakeholder for MEP systems in both leased colocation and build-to-suit environments
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for emerging technologies and guide leadership on non-traditional data center implications

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data center architecture or infrastructure engineering with a proven track record
• Deep expertise in MEP systems for various data center environments
• Strong knowledge of cooling technologies and their application in high-density deployments
• Familiarity with AI/ML hardware roadmaps and future-proofing facility designs
• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and collaborate with technical and business teams
